Taking advantage of the nice dry weather to verti-cut and cut the Balcomie tees
with the dry weather we have started to irrigate greens & tees where required
 Courses starting to dry out
We got a great hit on the Pearlwort on the Balcomie greens

Marsh orchids are flowering in the Craighead course rough. The main task today was to cut, clean, blow, reshape and spray edges with selective herbicide on the Craighead course bunkers

Sunday 15 June 2014

3 weeks ago we trialled out a chemical to help reduce our rougher grasses in the roughs at holes 9 & 10 on the Balcomie course, which so far is working well, the aim is to have thinner roughs which still give definition but more playable
holes 1 & 14 on the Balcomie course
our weekly maintenance on our wash pad of adding bugs, checking, cleaning pumps and pipe works
cutting then spraying a selective herbicide on the Balcomie course greens to eradicate a weed called Pearwort
hole 11 on the Balcomie course

Wednesday 11 June 2014

both courses have great definition, hopefully not long until they dry out and become more like a true links, the Craighead greens are now fully recovered, jobs at the moment is just cutting plus trying to carry out extra verti-cutting with this extra growth on areas

Wednesday 4 June 2014

The Craighead greens are recovering well from the major aeration work last month but the surface is still a little bumpy so we were out giving them a light vert-cut,cut then turf iron plus a half-rate of liquid fertiliser and growth regulator. other tasks have been to catch up with strimming work and just general cutting well try to keep up with cutting which is difficult with the amount of growth at the moment
